SAP Web Channel Experience Management (WCEM)

With SAP Web Channel Experience Management, SAP supplies a new flexible shop solution with a proven integration approach and improved architecture and design.

SAP WCEM combines the advantages of previous SAP shop solutions – such as seamless integration with the existing SAP CRM or SAP ERP backend system – with a new look and feel as well as new functions. The new design is based on Java Server Faces as the user interface framework, and thus allows for an even more flexible adaptation to the customer's requirements.

 

The proven model-view-controller design pattern, which separates the business logic from the process routines and graphical representation, is maintained. The introduction of a new modular composition allows for the easy extension of customer-specific processes and data. The previous separation between B2B and B2C scenarios was abandoned by SAP. Now, the different modules, functions and also basic settings of the shop can be set and controlled centrally from SAP Web Channel Builder.

SAP Netweaver 7.30, in combination with Java 6.0, forms the technological basis for SAP Web Channel Experience Management. Customers continue to benefit from standardized development and extension mechanisms.

Through our close cooperation with SAP in the area of e-Commerce/Web Channel, we accompanied the product creation of SAP WCEM right from the start. Consequently, we gained an insight into the specifications, and assisted in the implementation of the new framework as well as the first tests of the new application. We gathered first field experience with the new SAP Web Channel Experience Management during the prototyping for customer validations. In addition, we supported SAP in the conceptual design and implementation of further web solutions based on this new framework.
