Just in time for the
2009/2010 Bundesliga season, 1899 Hoffenheim has optimized its fan shop with new features and an
updated layout. An innovative, user-friendly online shop solution has been implemented that employs
Web 2.0 technologies and the latest usability concepts.
The design proposal for the new
layout was developed in cooperation
with a digital agency and implemented by Sycor.
Web 2.0 Tools such as the
product carousel on
the home page, the
image zoom feature on the product details page or the
cross-selling feature offer a variety of options for
product presentation and navigation.
The
product configurator on the product details page
allows the user to personalize various products (in this case, soccer jerseys) with player names or
the user's own name.
Content editors can add info about current sales or other important data using the
side bar on the product details page.
Customer satisfaction was further increased through integration of new payment options such
as the online payment service Payment Network, a shipment tracking feature and a
detailed order overview.
Another challenge was the tight implementation schedule of only three months from kick-off to
rollout.
