From Axapta 1.0 to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

The fully integrated ERP solution Axapta was originally developed by the Danish company Damgaard A/S. The first version, Axapta 1.0, was initially released in 1998 in Denmark and the US. Before the company was merged with Navision Software A/S in 2000, the enhanced versions Axapta 1.5, 2.0 and 2.1 followed. The new company Navision-Damgaard released Axapta 2.5.

Navision-Damgaard was then ultimately acquired by Microsoft in 2002. Axapta was first renamed to Microsoft Business Solutions Axapta, and finally in a rebranding project to Microsoft Dynamics AX. Thus, Axapta 3.0 was replaced by Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 in July 2006. Since August 2011 the latest version, microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, is available.
