Sycor expands in Göttingen

Effective 1 January 2012, Sycor will acquire a majority shareholding in mbs Marketing- und Bildungsservice GmbH based in Göttingen, Germany. With this acquisition, which is the largest ever for the company, the number of people employed by the Sycor Group in Göttingen will increase by 58, resulting in a total of 300 employees.

(Göttingen) The Sycor Group's majority shareholding in mbs Marketing- und Bildungsservice GmbH represents the largest single expansion in the history of the company. With this acquisition, the number of employees at the company's Göttingen site will reach 300 as of 1 January 2012. In just one year, Sycor's global workforce will have expanded from 300 to roughly 440 employees.  Dr. Marko Weinrich, spokesman for the SYCOR GmbH Executive Board, explains the motivation for acquiring the company, which is healthy and has an excellent strategic position: "The expertise of mbs GmbH is the right addition to our range of products and services. This will dramatically enhance our image as a provider of comprehensive IT services throughout Germany and the world."

In the words of mbs founders Wolfgang and Helene Gerlach, who run the company along with Alexander Osterbrink: "After 20 successful years, it was very important to us to find successors who would be good for employees and the company. For us, the acquisition by SYCOR GmbH was an excellent way of ensuring our continued success and safeguarding the positions of all 58 employees." As a service provider, mbs GmbH specializes in helping large domestic and international companies implement and operate IT-based processes and systems for marketing and sales. The company provides process consulting, training and support services for customers in Germany, throughout Europe and around the globe. mbs GmbH specializes in the pharmaceutical industry. Of the 15 leading pharmaceutical corporations in the world, 10 are customers of mbs. At the moment, mbs is helping a leading pharmaceutical company implement a new software solution by providing training and support services for 51 countries in 16 different languages.
