"I
first contacted Sycor by e-mail in 2000. At that time I was studying business information
technology at the Goettingen Private University of Applied Sciences. I got a quick response, and at
the interview that followed I was accepted for an internship position. I started the internship in
July 2000. The work was challenging right from the start and I was able to put my knowledge to good
use. After the internship, I was employed as a student assistant as of 1 November 2000. At the
beginning I focused on Sycor's internal time sheet system, which was initially an MS Access
application, but was replaced with an SAP solution in 2001. Thanks to the flexible hours and
personal arrangements with the company, I was able to strike the perfect balance between work and
school. Depending on my workload at school, I was able to vary the number of hours I worked each
week and work full time at Sycor during the semester breaks. After graduating, I was hired at Sycor
in November 2005. My work is now focused on the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI). In March
2006, I received an SAP certification in the business processes of the oil and gas industry. Since
Sycor is a global company, I'd like to take advantage of the opportunity to work abroad for a
while."
